Indie Bookstore Day at Firestorm

This year for Independent Bookstore Day (IBD), our co-op is participating in a local bookstore crawl and handing out free books!

Independent Bookstore Day is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. Join us in West Asheville to celebrate the social, political, and personal contributions of bookstores around the world.

Unique Merch and Freebies

Like other indie bookstore, Firestorm will be marking IBD with the offer of special merchandise designed for book lovers (Margaret Atwood posters! Nikki McClure prints! Colson Whitehead utility pouches!). Additionally, we'll be handing out free books! While supplies last, every visitor to our co-op will be able to select a title from our giveaway table, including recently released nonfiction, fiction, teen, and children's titles! Come early for the best selection. <3

A Bookstore Crawl!

On Saturday morning, visit one or more of the participating indie locations and enter to win hundreds of dollars in bookstore prizes. The more bookstores you visit, the bigger the prizes you can win! Be sure to visit Malaprop's Bookstore/Cafe, The Captain's Bookshelf, The Champagne Bar & Book Exchange, Downtown Books & News, and Spellbound Children's Bookstore.

How Does It Work? Each bookstore will have free IBD stamp cards available. Collect stamps from as many indies as you can before dropping them off at Malaprop's (55 Haywood St). All cards must be received by no later than Monday, April 30th for inclusion in the big raffle!
