Concerted Activity in the Workplace

What it is, and how to use it!

The word "union" often has negative connotations. It shouldn't, but it does. So why use the word at all? Legally, we refer only to "concerted activity." Now, doesn't that sound better? And it's the same thing.  If you have ever thought about changing the balance of power in your workplace, this is a good place to learn more. If you have had any thoughts about confronting your boss, don't do it until you know how to do it safely.

Thad Eckard, secretary of the IWW, Carolina Mountains GMB, and Eric Fink, a wobbly with the Greensboro branch, will jointly present a brief show-and-tell about concerted activity in the workplace, followed by role-playing scenarios. If you want to learn the basics, or if you want to know the facts, this event will be the time and place.
