User Safety

Courage over Cowardice

From the organizer:

"Brought to the public by the North Carolina Harm Reduction Coalition, User Safety: Courage over Cowardice is a group of real people from the addicted community that meet on a regular basis to discuss and provide services that help promote and provide public health safety.  HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C are on the rise among injection drug users (IDUs).  It is important that these people are educated and equipped with FACTS about disease and know where free testing sites are.  Also, there will be discussion covering overdose prevention and how to recognize an overdose.  There will also be discussions about safe sex and sex worker safety. This meet-up overall is intended to give dignity back to the addicted. These people need a voice! In User Safety: Courage above Cowardice, they are heard!"
